Roads Division
Responsible for the design and construction of municipal roads and drainage systems.
The Roads Division is comprised of 11 staff operating from one depot - Beaverton (B27305 Sideroad No. 17), the depot has a Working Foreman responsible for scheduling work activities at the direction of the Director of Public Works.
In the Roads Division, the Director of Public Works is responsible for administration of the design and construction of municipal roads and drainage systems, the development of the departmental budget and administering the municipal road occupancy permit system and municipal consents.
Other administrative responsibilities include the preservation, maintenance and rehabilitation of approximately 350 kilometers of roads (gravel, hard surfaced, asphalt), 39 bridges, sidewalks, streetlights, drainage, winter control, signage, maintenance and removal of trees on municipal properties and the acquisition, maintenance and repair of corporate vehicles and equipment.

Employment
During the winter months the Works Department hires part time/casual
help to assist in both the arena and road divisions. These positions
are advertised in advance in the local paper. Interested applicants
must submit an application form, complete with resume to the Works
Department for consideration. However, all applications received by the
municipality are placed on file for a period of four months. Should a
position become available at any time, these applications are reviewed
for suitability to the position.
