Official Plan Review (2004-2007)

by Site Admin last modified 2009-09-14 14:03

Official Plan Approved With Modifications and Parts Deferred by Region

The Township of Brock, in recognition that the municipality will see significant growth over the next 10 – 15 years, initiated a review of its Official Plan in 2004. The purpose of the review was to establish a vision for the Township and to develop a policy framework to achieve that vision. It was the first major review of the approved Official Plan since its adoption in 1985. The municipality was assisted in this project by a Steering Committee of 11 community-minded individuals, representing all areas of the Township, to provide advice and guidance in the development of a new Official Plan.

On June 26, 2006 Council enacted By-law Number 2006-2006-PL, being a by-law to adopt a new Official Plan for the Township of Brock. The adopted Official Plan was approved by the Region of Durham on May 9, 2007 with certain modifications and parts deferred for further consideration.
