The Township of Brock operates an animal shelter located in the Cannington urban area. If you should find a lost cat/dog, or if your cat/dog has gone missing, please call the Canine Control Officer immediately.

The following services are provided through the shelter:

• care of animals impounded at the shelter
• respond to complaint calls;
• pick-up and impound strays;
• admit surrender of animals;
• provide animals with required medical attention;
• licence all dogs at the time of redemption;
• respond to dog bite occurrences;
• keep ongoing shelter records.

Animal Shelter Fees

These fees are payable on redemption:

• $25.00 for first impound of a dog or cat in a calendar year;

• $50.00 for the second impound of a dog or cat in the same calendar year;

• $65.00 for each subsequent impound of that dog or cat in the same calendar year;

• $10.00 per day maintenance for each day that a dog or cat remains impounded subsequent to the day of seizure and impounding

Adoption Program

Unclaimed dogs/cats are offered for adoption. Photographs are taken and placed in the local newspaper advertising availability of pets as well as being posted on the Petfinder website. Contact Canine Control for further information.
