South Lake Community Futures Development Corporation

The South Lake Community Futures Development Corporation (South Lake CFDC) is a not-for-profit community based organization providing a variety of small business and community economic development services within the towns of East Gwillimbury, Georgina as well as Brock Township.  South Lake CFDC operates under a contract from Industry Canada / FedNor to provide community futures programming to these communities.

This community based organization, comprised of a fiscally responsible and business-oriented Board of directors and staff, endeavours to foster job creation and support for new and established businesses in the community. TheCFDC provides loans as well as a broad range of other financial services, business counselling and community economic development activities which include: Business Financing, Social Enterprise Financing, Business Counselling, Resources and Registration, Community Economic Development, and the Eastern Ontario Development Program.

Brock Economic Development Advisory Committee - Request for Members

The Township of Brock is inviting applications from members of the public interested in serving on the a newly formed Economic Development Advisory Committee. The purpose of this Committee is to provide advice and recommendations to Council on matters related to the attraction, development, and retention of all business sectors including agriculture, aggregates, arts and culture, manufacturing, commercial (personal service and retail), tourist, and home-based businesses.

The Region of Durham Economic Development Department, in conjunction with the Township of Brock, has prepared a Site Selector information package which provides general information of interest to individuals and companies who may wish to relocate to Brock. The full-colour package provides maps of available employment lands and descriptive information related to employment statistics, tax information, development charge rates, utility rates, and key contacts.
