Site Plan Approval

by Site Admin last modified 2011-01-25 15:34

Council must approve development of certain properties.

Development of certain properties may be subject to site plan approval which is normally identified through the official plan and/or zoning amendment process. Site plan approval is basically a detailed site plan which is approved by Council and shows the following information:

  • parking and loading spaces to serve the building;
  • landscaping;
  • lighting;
  • garbage facilities;
  • walkways;
  • highway widenings (if applicable); and,
  • site drainage.

Once the site plan is approved an agreement is entered between the property owner and municipality which is registered on the title of the property.

If you wish to make an application for site plan approval, download the Application Form and the Application Guide.
