Are you looking for a fun way to stay active during your school break? The Township of Brock offers a variety of age appropriate day camp programs. These programs are available for children between the ages of 4-12. Our camps include new specialty programs, weekly themes, crafts, and a variety of activities for your child to enjoy!
Winter Camp

March Break Camp
March Break Day Camp will run at the Foster Hewitt Memorial Community Centre from March 10-14, 2025. Camp runs daily from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Each day of camp will include indoor and outdoor activities, arts & crafts, science experiments, public skating and more!

Before and After care hours available for an additional registration fee.

Before Care: 7:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m.

After Care: 4:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Registration will open February 3, 2025 at 10:00 a.m.
To prepare for registration opening, it is highly recommended to create an online account in advance for ease of registration on the opening date.
Due to staffing restrictions, the Township is not able to provide 1:1 support during March Break Camp.

Camps Offered:

 Mites Camp (Ages 4-6)
Campers ages 4-6 will participate in a variety of fun filled activities throughout the week. Each day of camp will include arts & crafts, science experiments, camp games, outdoor play, and additional indoor activities to keep campers engaged and entertained all day long! Campers will also have the opportunity for an optional 1 hour of skating each day.
Registration Fee: $33.00 per day
 Variety Camp (Ages 7-12)
Join us for an action-packed week of games and activities geared towards campers ages 7-12. Activities will include indoor and outdoor play, DIY craft projects, science experiments and more! Campers will also have the opportunity for an optional 1 hour of skating each day.
Registration Fee: $33.00 per day

 Parents/Guardians will receive an email the Friday before camp starts with additional details.

Summer Day Camp
Registration:
Summer Day Camp registration will open on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. online. 
Full Week registration will be available April 1 - June 7, 2025. As of June 8, any camp weeks with availability will open for individual day registration. Please note: Individual day registration is not guaranteed, as some weeks may reach capacity before June 8th.
To prepare for registration opening, it is highly recommended to create an online account in advance for ease of registration on the opening date.
Camp availability can be checked online through the Township website. Availability can only be guaranteed at time of processing the registration. The Township will not “hold” spots for individuals. Registration will be accepted online only through our registration software. Confirmation of registration will be emailed upon completion. 
The Township of Brock reserves the right to cancel any camp programs with low enrollment. If a camp is cancelled, you will be offered the option to move to a different camp location, or be provided a full refund.

Hours

Summer day camp runs Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. during the summer (July & August). The Township of Brock is not responsible for your child before or after these operation hours, unless your child is registered for before and/or after care.

Before and After care hours available at select camps for an additional registration fee.'

Before Care: 7:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m.

After Care: 4:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Camps:

Registration Fee: $170 per week

 Variety Camp (Ages 7-12)

Campers ages 7-12 will make summer experiences, memories and friendships that last a lifetime! Over the course of the week campers will have the opportunity to participate in new games, activities, sports, arts and crafts and many more exciting activities!

Registration Fee: $170 per week

 Art Camp (Ages 7-12)

Is your child looking to challenge their creativity and discover their inner artist? Art Camp provides an opportunity for campers ages 7-12 to participate in hands-on art activities in a variety of mediums including paint, sculpting, drawing, mosaics, fabrics and more! Campers will display their art at the week-end Art Show and will take home their designs to keep.  

Registration Fee: $190 per week

  Sports Camp (Ages 7-12)

Sports camp is designed for campers ages 7-12 to participate and experience a variety of sports in a fun and safe environment. Campers will participate in skills, drills and games in a variety of sports including, but not limited to basketball, soccer, baseball and more! Sports camp encourages teamwork, participation and skill development.

Registration Fee: $190 per week

 Dance Camp (Ages 7-12)

All the sizzling stars are sure to love our rockin’ dance camp! Campers ages 7-12 will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of dance styles including ballet, hip hop, jazz and more! Throughout the week campers will build on their skills, choreograph routines, and work towards hosting a week-end showcase.

Registration Fee: $190 per week

 Mini Movers (Ages 4-6)

Are you ready to get moving? Mini Movers camp is an introduction to dance for our campers ages 4-6. Campers will be moving and grooving in a variety of dance styles, movement activities, songs and games. Campers will work on performance numbers that they will perform at the week-end showcase.

Registration Fee: $190 per week

 Adventure Camp (Ages 7-12)

 Does your child enjoy spending time outdoors in nature? Adventure camp is an opportunity for campers ages 7-12 to experience a week of adventure through nature discovery, forest activities, games, nature crafts, and survival skills.

Registration Fee: $190 per week

 Mini Explorers (Ages 4-6)

 It’s time to get outdoors and explore the nature around us. Mini Explorers is designed for curious campers ages 4-6 to participate in nature discovery, games and activities in the great outdoors!

Registration Fee: $190 per week

Leader in Training (L.I.T.) (Ages 13-15)

The Leader in Training (LIT) program is designed for teens (ages 13-15) who are eager to develop leadership skills and explore what it takes to be a camp counselor. Over the course of one week, participants will gain hands-on experience working with campers, learn the fundamentals of group management, and receive guidance on how to effectively lead activities and support the camp environment.

This volunteer program offers the opportunity to develop valuable life skills, including communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and decision-making, while building confidence and preparing for future leadership roles. By the end of the week, LITs will have gained a deeper understanding of the responsibilities of a camp counselor and will be better equipped to contribute to camp communities in the future.

Registration Fee: $190 per week

Camp Policies and Procedures:

 Age of Participants
Day Camp programs are open to children 4-12 years of age. Campers MUST be 4 years old by the time they start camp and must not have reached the age of 13 during camp. Participants must have reached the required age limit prior to the first day of their camp session. 
 Safe Arrival and Dismissal
The Township of Brock is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for your child(ren). Our safe arrival and dismissal process ensures that campers are only released in to the care of their parent/guardian, or an individual designated by the parent/guardian at the time of registration. Everyone who picks up a child from camp is required to show government issued photo identification (ID) every time they pick up. Individuals are expected to sign the child in at the start of the day, and sign them out at the end of the day with a camp staff. Staff will be wearing bright yellow T-shirts for easy identification.
What to Wear
Be prepared! Dress for the weather and for the activities you’ll be participating in. Bathing suit and towels should be packed daily for outdoor water games. Dress for a mess, old clothes are best! Closed-toe shoes are encouraged for all the activities your child will be participating in. Sandals are not suitable for our adventures.

Please leave electronics and toys at home. Township of Brock will not be held responsible for lost, stolen or damaged items. Label all your child’s belongings.
 Code of Conduct/Behaviour
Campers are expected to behave appropriately while in the care of programs they are participating in. We have these  expectations in place to ensure that all participants are able to enjoy a welcoming, safe,
positive and rewarding camp experience. It is also a necessary requirement of participants to behave
appropriately:
  • Respect for themselves
  • Respect for the property
  • Respect for others
  • Positive camp participation in all activities
  • To be safe and have fun!
Persistent behavior issues are discussed between the staff and their immediate supervisor prior to determining the consequence. Please note expulsion from camp is a last resort, but may be implemented if warranted.
Inclusion Support/ Participants with Additional Needs
We strive to ensure the successful and safe participation of all campers in our camps. If your child has extra support needs or a health condition you MUST inform us upon registration.
If your child requires 1:1 support, you must contact the Camp Coordinator PRIOR to registration at camp@brock.ca. All 1:1 requests require an interview with the Camp Coordinator to ensure we able to meet the needs of your camper. Families require 1:1 assistance can request support for up to two weeks of camp. 1:1 support may be required if:
  • Extra support is used at school
  • Extra help is needed at home for basic care
  • A physical, medical, behavioural and/or developmental disability that could affect your child’s safety or ability to participate
The Township of Brock has the right to remove participants from a program if they cannot follow the code of conduct. The Township of Brock Refund Policy will apply.
 Allergy Awareness
  • Peanut/nut products are not permitted at camp.
Any allergies should be listed in the medical concerns on the registration form including any required medication, signs, symptoms etc.

Leader Qualifications

All camp staff are hired through an application and interview process, and selected based on their experience and enthusiasm. All staff must have:
  • Standard First Aid and CPR Level C
  • Vulnerable Sector Check
 In addition to these qualifications, all staff are required to attend pre-camp training sessions on child safety and programming.
Cancellations
  • Cancellations must be made 1 week in advance of the start of that session. Refunds will not be provided if cancellation is after the 1 week deadline.
  • Cancellations for camp weeks will incur a $25.00 cancellation fee, per child, per week.
  • Cancellations for Extended Care will incur a $10.00 cancellation fee, per child, per week.
  • All cancellations must be emailed to camp@brock.ca
  • Upon approval of cancellation a refund will be issued through the registration software less the service fee.
  • The cancellation will not be charged in the event the Township of Brock cancels the program.

Waitlist

If a desired camp has reached capacity, we encourage parents to add their child to the waitlist for the desired week of camp in case of cancellations. If a space becomes available:

  • Parent will receive an email advising they’ve been moved off the waitlist into the program.
  • Parent will have 48 hours to confirm their child’s spot in the program. After 48 hours without confirmation, the child will be removed from the waitlist and the spot will be offered to the next child on the waitlist.

 

Camp Subsidy

 Child Care Fee Help (Subsidy) - Region of Durham

Child Care Fee Subsidy is available to eligible families. Subsidy can help with the cost of Winter Break, March Break, and Summer Camp.

 

Child Care Fee Subsidy is a government program to help low-income families with child care fees.

To apply for Fee Subsidy or for more information, visit: Child Care Fee Help (Subsidy) - Region of Durham.  Eligibility is based on income and other factors. Once approved, your caseworker will inform the camp agency.

 

Durham Fee Subsidy may cover all, or a portion of the camp cost. Fee Subsidy funds will be issued directly to the camp agency. Depending on your family’s income, you may have a parent fee. The parent fee will be billed to the parent by the camp agency.

 

Families already approved for Fee Subsidy in Durham can ask their caseworker about applying their subsidy to recreation programs.

 Ontario Works Recipients
Brock residents who are recipients of Ontario Works can participate in summer camp. If you receive Ontario Works, speak with your Caseworker to find out more information. You can also visit the Durham Region Social Services website or contact 905-666-6239 for more information.

 

Summer Day Camp Sponsorship

Brock Summer Day Camp welcomes over 80 children each week across our vibrant camp locations in Sunderland, Cannington, and Beaverton. As part of the experience, each camper receives a bright yellow t-shirt as a keepsake of their summer fun.
