Annual Charity Golf Tournament

The rural lifestyle that Brock residents enjoy does not provide the facilities and entertainment for our youth and seniors that large city centers can. It is hoped that charity events such as this will allow the Township of Brock to provide funding for quality activities for our youth and seniors.

Over the past 26 years of this tournament, participants have raised over $270,000. These funds were distributed to and matched by local non-profit organizations resulting in projects exceeding $499,300 for completion in the community.  Grants have been awarded to over 70 organizations offering projects ranging from bowling, skateboard parks, curling, ice skating, running & fitness equipment, playground equipment, horticultural programs, youth theatre and uniforms for a variety of teams and groups.

We are hopeful that your generosity will help to make this year’s tournament a huge success and allow us to find even more quality youth projects in our area.

In order for our tournament to be successful, we need support from businesses and community organizations in the form of sponsorships and donations.  No contribution is considered too small.

• We are seeking exciting prizes for our on-course contests and games such as Yeti Coolers, BBQ, smoker, battery operated hedging tool, professional services (painting, cleaning etc.). Options for your company to donate the prize or donate money for the prize to be purchased.

On an annual basis, community organizations are invited to submit an application for proceeds raised at the charity golf tournament.

Stay tuned for when applications for funds raised at the 2026 Golf Tournament will be available.

Applications must include specific details regarding estimated costs of the project/initiative, other fund-raising efforts to facilitate the project, expected completion dates and the expected benefits for the program participants and the community.

All applications for funding must adhere to the following criteria:

• Youth and/or senior oriented projects and programs serving residents of the Township of Brock.  Priority will be given to new projects and programs being introduced to the community.
• Applications must be completed by the local non-profit organization/ group conducting the program. Applications submitted on behalf of another group will not be accepted.
• An innovative project that promotes the health, wellness and physical activity of our youth and seniors.
• Projects will only be funded to a maximum of 50%. The applicant will be responsible for other fund-raising efforts to cover the remaining cost of the identified project.
• No project will be awarded more than $2,700 from the annual golf tournament proceeds.
• Proof of expenditure with receipts must be provided upon completion of the project, at which time the funds will be provided by the municipality.
• Awarded applications will have until the following year-end, Dec 31st, to complete the project and receive grant funds.  Otherwise, the grant will be closed and remaining funds returned to source for other applicants. For example, applications awarded in spring of 2026 must be completed by Dec 31st, 2027.
• Partial payments can be made, based on 50% of the program expenses up to the awarded amount.  
• In extreme cases, extensions for a maximum of 6 months may be granted upon written request to the Treasurer no later than, Nov 1st the year the award expires. The communication should contain the award name, award amount, expenses to date, any balances received to date, a detailed explanation for the extension, when the program will be complete. The Treasurer will provide a response no later than December 20th.

• Individuals
• For Profit Organizations
• Political Organizations
  • Organizations with a political mandate, such as citizen ratepayers associations
  • Organizations which are religious entities or faith-based groups and are registered charities or not-for-profit corporations, may be eligible if they provide direct programs and services to the community at large which are not religious activities and do not include a requirement to participate in any dimensions of faith
  • Organizations whose activities may breach the Ontario Human Rights Code or Charter of Rights.
  • Regularly recurring rentals
  • General operating costs
  • Programs and services that are the responsibility or funded by other levels of government
  • Programs and services that are currently offered by the municipality

Given that the proceeds may fluctuate from year to year, not all projects will be able to be funded.  The Township shall at its sole discretion approve the applications.
