Township of Brock Ice Storm Operations Update – April 28, 2025

As of Friday April 25th, the use of third-party tree contractors hired to help with the ice storm clean up along municipal roads has concluded. Moving forward, the Township’s Public Works crews will complete the tree clean up over the next few months. The clean up will only occur in the areas that have yet to be picked up and were previously identified.

Whitby, Ontario – The Region of Durham is accepting applications from local non-profit organizations to the Thriving Communities Fund. This fund supports initiatives that help prevent and/or reduce poverty for Durham residents.
What: The Thriving Communities Fund supports non-profit organizations with operational and/or capacity building activities that strengthen their ability to deliver programs and services. The maximum amount to be awarded is $50,000 per approved application.

Whitby, Ontario – Don't let your old batteries go to waste! The Region of Durham is calling on residents to recycle their used household batteries by placing them on top of their closed Green Bin during collection days the week of April 28.
