Elections
The Office of the Mayor will be declared vacant by Council on Monday June 9, 2025 following the resignation of Mayor Walter Schummer. The municipality is required to hold a by-election for the position in accordance with the Municipal Act and Municipal Elections Act.
Over the next few weeks, additional information will be added to this page to support voters and interested candidates.
Important Dates
- Nominations for Office of the Mayor will open on Monday July 7, 2025 at 8:30 a.m.
- Nominations will close on Friday July 25, 2025 at 2:00 p.m.
Our election will be simple: 4 days, 3 ways
- Advanced Voting will take place on September 4, 5, and 6
- By-election will be held on Monday September 8

How to Vote |
4 days, 3 ways Advanced voting will take place on September 4, 5, and 6, 2025. The formal by-election day is Monday September 8, 2025. Voting for the 2025 by-election can be conducted by internet, telephone or by visiting a Voter Assistance Centre and requesting a ballot-on-demand. All eligible electors will receive a Voter Information letter in the mail.
