Give your batteries new life: Recycle your batteries during the week of April 28

Whitby, Ontario – Don't let your old batteries go to waste! The Region of Durham is calling on residents to recycle their used household batteries by placing them on top of their closed Green Bin during collection days the week of April 28.
When: Spring battery collection occurs from April 28 to May 2 on Green Bin collection days.

Lane Restrictions on Regional Road 13, April 7, 2025

The Regional Municipality of Durham will continue road reconstruction of Regional Road 13 from 730 metres east of Lake Ridge Road (Regional Road 23) to 810 metres west of Sideroad 17. The work includes grading, drainage, curb and gutter, hot mix asphalt, sod and seed, and new plantings.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham advises residents that due to an ongoing power outage the following service disruptions have occurred:
- The Durham Waste Management Facility in Scugog remains closed until further notice due to a power outage. The site will reopen once power is restored.

The threat of U.S. Tariffs is already having impacts. If 25% tariffs are applied in four weeks, with Canadian retaliatory tariffs, it will cause broad impacts on jobs and the local economy.
