Brock Township Fire Department News - New Spartan FC-94 Pumper Fire Truck

This week the Brock Township Fire Department took ownership of a new 2024 Spartan FC-94 pumper fire truck.

This Canadian built fire truck was purchased from Dependable Emergency Vehicles as a replacement of a 20-year-old truck.

The truck is scheduled to be in service February 2025 and will operate out of the Cannington Fire Station.

December 16 Addendum to the Committee of the Whole and Council Meeting Agenda

The December 16, 2024  the addendum to the Committee of the Whole and Council meeting agenda are available on the Council Calendar.

Members of the public are welcome to attend the meeting in Council Chambers at 1 Cameron Street East, Cannington (Second floor of the Municipal Office) or participate virtually by viewing the meeting on the livestream which can be accessed by clicking on the December 16, 2024 Committee of the Whole HTML Agenda and December 16, 2024 Council Meeting HTML Agenda. 

Blackwater Bridge Closure

At the Committee of the Whole meeting held on December 2, 2024, Council authorized staff to close Blackwater Bridge located on Concession 4 in Sunderland, due to safety concerns identified by the engineering consultant retained to complete the design for rehabilitation of the Blackwater Bridge.

Tender documents are posted on the tender platform with hopes of work commencing in January 2025.

The bridge will remain closed until rehabilitation construction is complete.

Township of Brock Declares Significant Weather Event Due to Icy Conditions

Based on the heavy accumulations of ice, the Township wishes to advise residents that roads may be slippery. Residents are asked to drive according to the weather conditions. 

Roads, sidewalks and parking lots will be sanded as soon as crews are able to address them. 

Thank-you for your patience during the ice clearing operations. Please assist our work crews by refraining from on-street parking to enable plows to go down the street.
