Council Highlights offer a summary of crucial decisions or agenda items discussed in Council meetings, aiming to give residents a snapshot of the meeting proceedings. The following are highlights from Monday's Council Meeting.

  • Council received a presentation on North Durham Agriculture-Related and On-Farm Diversified Uses Recommendations.  The recommendations were informed by a broad audience of organizations who have a heightened interest in agriculture land uses and on farm diversified uses. Each municipality in North Durham will need to consider the recommendations and take on the local planning and implementing processes outlined.
    • To watch this presentation please view the April 28, 2025 Council Meeting starting at the 16:10 minute mark.
  • Brock Township Fire Department presented their Q2 status report to Council.
  • By-Law and Animal Services presented the Q1 status report to Council.
  • Council approved for the Township of Brock to enter into an agreement with Alerting and Dispatching Services Agreement with the City of Oshawa Fire Service. This service will assist the Brock Fire Department in performing communications and dispatching duties.

  •  Mayor Schummer provided an update the news of Durham Region Transit's new Route 618 which starts on May 5, 2025.
