Council Highlights June 9, 2025

Council Highlights offer a summary of crucial decisions or agenda items discussed in Council meetings, aiming to give residents a snapshot of the meeting proceedings. The following are highlights from Monday's Council Meeting.
- The Office of the Mayor has been declared vacant by Council. A By-Election will be held to fill the vacancy. Due to the recent changes made by the Province of Ontario in regard to the Strong Mayors, Building Homes Act, Council cannot fill the vacancy by appointment.

- Council has received the report to Appoint an Alternate Member of Regional Council and will not elect an alternate member at this time. At this time, the focus is to fill the Mayoral vacancy.
- Council approved the 2024 Financial Audit statement presented by Deloitte LLP
- Council was presented an update on the Durham Greener Homes Program, and will contribute $7500.00 from the Green Initiative Funding Budget for incentive programing for Brock residents.
- Council will continue to include dedicated funding at a minimum of 2% in the annual budget to assist with closing the infrastructure gap as per Brocks 2025 Asset Management Plan.
- The Draft Plan of Subdivision and Zoning By-law Amendment Application for Simcoe 16700 Inc., Part of lot 35, Concession 7 in Manilla Report was received and adopted by Council. The Township will grant draft approval of draft plan of subdivision S-B-2022-02, subject to the conditions outlined in Attachment 3 to this report and any minor revisions to the satisfaction of the Director of Development Services
