Emergency Preparedness Week 2025: Be Ready, Brock Township
Brock Township, ON — Emergency Preparedness Week (May 5–11, 2025) is an opportunity to build awareness around how we can better prepare for the unexpected — and for Brock Township, the timing couldn’t be more relevant.
In the wake of the recent ice storm that left thousands without power for days, residents have seen firsthand how important it is to be ready. Emergency preparedness doesn't have to involve extreme measures — even small steps can make a big difference during a crisis.
Throughout the week, the Township of Brock will be sharing daily tips and resources on Facebook. Residents are encouraged to follow along to learn simple, practical actions they can take to better protect themselves, their families, and their property before the next emergency hits.
Join Us In Person – Monday, May 5th
Residents are also invited to stop by Fisher’s Independent Grocer in Beaverton on Monday, May 5 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Meet Fire Prevention Officer Bath, pick up a free Emergency Action Plan, and chat about what worked — and what we can all do better.
“Being prepared doesn't have to be overwhelming,” said FPO Bath. “Something as simple as knowing where your flashlight is, or having a list of emergency numbers saved in your phone, can make a huge difference. We’re here to help make preparedness accessible for everyone.”
