Township of Brock mourns the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis

On behalf of the Township of Brock, its Members of Council, and residents, I wish to extend my deepest condolences to all who mourn the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis at the age of 88.
My condolences to Catholics and all those who were touched by the kindness and humility of Pope Francis. While no mortal is perfect, I commend Pope Francis for his progressive views and let us hope that those views are built on as a foundation to a kinder and more welcoming church and world.
Born Jorge Mario Bergoglio in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Pope Francis made history in 2013 as the first pope from the Americas, the first Jesuit pope, and the first non-European pope in over 1,200 years. His papacy, marked by humility, compassion, and a deep commitment to social justice, transformed the face of the Catholic Church in the 21st century.
As the world mourns the loss of a transformative spiritual leader and as a Catholic myself, I understand the loss of this spiritual leader and share in the mourning as we enter this coming conclave.
May he rest in peace.
To mark his passing and to honour his incredible impact, we have lowered the flags at the Municipal Administrative Building.
