Fire Department Responds to Suspicious Fire in Vacant Building
Cannington, June 19, 2025 — Yesterday, the Brock Township Fire Department responded to a report of a fire in a vacant building located in Cannington. Upon arrival, firefighters found evidence suggesting the fire was suspicious in nature.
It is believed that this vacant building is frequently accessed by children and teenagers. The fire department is issuing this public reminder that such actions carry serious consequences - including criminal charges.
Parents and guardians are urged to take this opportunity to remind young people that trespassing and arson are against the law. Fires grow and spread quickly, posing significant danger to life, property, and the community.
What may appear as harmless mischief to some can quickly lead to devastating and irreversible consequences.
For the safety of all, do not enter any vacant buildings, and never play with fire.
