Notice of Construction - Watermain replacements on Franklin, Centre and James streets, in the Township of Brock.

What’s happening?
The Regional Municipality of Durham has hired Rabcon Contractors Ltd., to complete watermain replacements on Franklin, Centre and James streets, in the Township of Brock.

What work is being done?
• Temporary water service connections will be installed before work begins to keep residents’ water running during construction.
• Replacing and installing new underground watermain on Franklin, Centre and James streets.
• Replacing water service connections and hydrants.
• Temporary removal of sections of the streets to complete the work.
• Roadway restoration including repaving of disturbed areas.
• Restoration of affected driveways, boulevards and lawns, as required.

When will this happen?
Rabcon Contractors Ltd. will be on site the week of April 20, to start preparing for the work. The construction is expected to finish by mid-September 2026, depending on weather conditions.

How will traffic be affected?
• Streets will remain open to local traffic during construction. Lane restrictions will be in place during working hours from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., with at least one lane always open.
• Access to homes and businesses will be maintained.
• Drivers should expect delays and plan for extra time when using Franklin, Centre and James streets.
• Bus routes, bus stops and sidewalks will remain open during construction.

Other important information
• During the installation of the temporary water service connections, residents will experience intermittent water supply interruptions. The contractor, Rabcon Contractors Ltd., will notify impacted properties at least 24 hours in advance of any service interruptions to give residents time to prepare.
