The Township of Brock Declares a Significant Weather Event – March 16, 2026
In anticipation of incoming snow squalls and heavy winds, the Township of Brock has declared a Significant Weather Event. This declaration alerts residents that weather conditions may make roads and sidewalks hazardous, and that maintenance efforts may take longer than usual.
Visit our website for more information on Brock's winter operations.
Stay safe with these winter weather reminders:
- Winter parking restrictions remain in effect until April 15.
No on-street parking is permitted between 12 a.m. and 7 a.m. so plows can clear roads safely and efficiently. - Share the road with snowplows.
Give plows plenty of space—stay back, avoid passing, and remember that plows may make wide turns or stop often. - Do not push snow from your driveway onto the road.
This creates dangerous conditions for you, your neighbours, and snow-clearing equipment.
Safety tips for snow squalls:
- Avoid unnecessary travel. Snow squalls can cause sudden whiteout conditions.
- Slow down and turn on your headlights if you must drive.
- Leave extra distance between your vehicle and the one ahead.
- Be prepared for rapidly changing visibility and icy patches.
Safety tips for high winds:
- Secure outdoor items such as garbage bins, decorations, and patio furniture.
- Watch for falling branches or blowing debris.
- Use caution near buildings where snow or ice may fall from roofs.
- Report downed power lines—stay at least 10 metres away and contact your utility provider.
