Township of Brock to Receive Up to A Maximum of $574,000 in Provincial Support for 2025 Ice Storm Recovery
The Township of Brock is pleased to announce approval of funding of up to $574,000 in financial support from the Provincial Government, reimbursing the municipality for expenses incurred during the cleanup and emergency response efforts following the severe March 28, 2025 ice storm.
This funding is part of Ontario’s Municipal Ice Storm Assistance Program, which is providing up to $26.8 million to municipalities across the Haliburton–Kawartha Lakes–Brock region to assist with recovery from the devastating storm. The ice storm caused extensive damage across central and eastern Ontario—downing hydro lines, uprooting trees, and leaving nearly 400,000 homes and businesses without power. Brock was among the many communities that faced significant impacts and substantial cleanup requirements.
Laurie Scott, MPP for Haliburton–Kawartha Lakes–Brock “The end of March 2025 brought a storm like no other to the communities in our region. Our provincial government recognized the need to financially support our municipalities, who played a critical role in cleaning up the widespread devastation.”
Mayor Michael Jubb
“On behalf of Council, Staff and residents of the Township of Brock, I would like to give my thanks and appreciation to our MPP Laurie Scott, and the Province of Ontario, for the approval of emergency funding to assist with clean-up from the devastating 2025 ice-storm. This provincial funding is critical for our small, rural municipality.”
The Township of Brock extends its sincere appreciation to the Province of Ontario for this vital support. This funding ensures that Brock can continue to deliver essential municipal services while mitigating the financial burden created by the extensive damage and cleanup efforts required after the storm.
