Waste collection changes over the holiday season

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham would like to inform residents in the City of Pickering, the Town of Ajax, the Municipality of Clarington, and the townships of Brock, Uxbridge and Scugog of changes to curbside waste collection dates due to the holidays.

When: Waste collection scheduled for Thursday, December 25 will be moved to the following day. This shift will continue with Friday, December 26 collection being moved to Saturday, December 27. Collection will also be shifted the following week, beginning on Thursday, January 1, 2026 and ending on Saturday, January 3, 2026.

Where: The City of Pickering, the Town of Ajax, the Municipality of Clarington, and the townships of Brock, Uxbridge and Scugog.

Why: Changes to waste collection are taking place in observance of Christmas Day and New Year’s Day statutory holidays.
