Brownfield Tax Assistance Program
The Brownfield Tax Assistance program applies to properties that need environmental rehabilitation and a remedial work plan or risk management plan. A Phase II Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) must have been completed for the property. The grant amount cancels our portion of the property tax for up to three years while you apply your remedial work plan or risk management plan.

Commercial Façade Improvement Program
The Commercial Façade Improvement program provides grants to improve the façade of your downtown commercial property. After completing approved work, you could get a grant that covers 50% of the cost of the improvement (up to $4000).
Design Studies Grant Program
The Design Studies Grant program offers grants for design studies for heritage restoration and architectural preservation work, safety and building code audits, and energy audits. You could get up to 50% of their cost back (maximum $1000 per application).
Environmental Study Grant Program
The Environmental Study Grant program covers 50% of the cost of an eligible study (up to $5,000 per study) for a property that may be environmentally contaminated.

Feasibility Study Grant Program
The Feasibility Study Grant program for brownfields covers 50% of the cost of an eligible study for a property's reuse and redevelopment potential (maximum of $5000 per study) if it may be environmentally contaminated. Eligible studies include an evaluation of the structural soundness of buildings and/or structures and their mechanical and electrical systems, concept plans for the property or project area, market analyses, and other feasibility studies as approved by the Township.
Planning and Building Fees Rebate Program
The Planning and Building Fees Rebate program returns all or a portion of the fees for work on downtown properties that requires planning approval or building permits.

We provide the grant within 20 working days after the approved work has been successful completed. Eligible fees include Official Plan Amendment, Zoning By-Law Amendment, Minor Variance, Site Plan Application, Demolition Permit and Building Permit. |
Project Feasibility Studies Grant Program
The Project Feasibility Studies Grant program covers 50% of the cost of professional services (maximum $1,000 per application). The Grant applies to market or export analyses, marketing strategies, labour and training requirements, productivity studies, or studies as approved by the Township. The program supports a small business start-up, business expansion, or new product development in one or more of the creative business clusters.
Property Tax Increment Equivalent Grant Program
The Property Tax Increment Equivalent Grant program offers up to 100% of the incremental increase in the municipal portion of property taxes following a reassessment in years one and two, and 50% of that increase for years three, four and five. You may apply to get the grant after the successful completion of the work. MPAC reassesses the property and after all appeals are resolved, the value of the incremental increase will be calculated to determine the grant.
Residential Conversion and Rehabilitation Grant Program
The Residential Conversion and Rehabilitation Grant program offers grants to cover up to 50% of construction cost to create new residential units or improve residential units within the upper-floor space of commercial buildings in the downtown (up to $4,000 per residential unit). The maximum grant available is $8,000 per property or application.
