Council Highlights January 26, 2026

Council Highlights offer a summary of crucial decisions or agenda items discussed in Council meetings, aiming to give residents a snapshot of the meeting proceedings. The following are highlights from the last Council Meeting:

Council was presented with the January 1 – November 31, 2025 operating revenue and operating expenditures by department.

Council approved the increased summer day camps registration fees for the 2026 year. The increase will help with Brock’s cost recovery model. The new camp rates are detailed in the report and will be available on our website at registration time.

Council has approved the Township to grant draft approval of a draft plan of subdivision S-B-2025-02 subject to the conditions outlined. The request was submitted by Beaverton Lake Homes Inc. and Beaverton Lake Homes (II) Inc. Best Homes Ltd.

Council approved new land use policies to permit agriculture-related and on-farm diversified uses. These policies are designed to support farmers by creating new opportunities to generate income and strengthen the long-term viability of farm operations. They also help to support the rural economy and agri-tourism while continuing to protect farmland. If you’re considering starting an agriculture related or on farm business, we encourage you to connect with Township staff to help walk through the criteria, understand any permits you may need, and ensure your project gets off to a successful start. Visit our website for more information on On-Farm Diversified Uses and Agriculture-Related Uses.
