Council Highlights May 12, 2025

Council Highlights offer a summary of crucial decisions or agenda items discussed in  Council meetings, aiming to give residents a snapshot of the meeting proceedings.

The Township of Brock Council Discussed the follow:

  • Council has approved the replacement of the new Beaverton Harbour sign. The exciting new sign will feature the Townships designation as the Smallmouth Bass Capital of Canada.
  • Council approved the installation of security cameras at the Timothy Findley Memorial Library Branch and Brock Dench Animal Shelter in Cannington.
  • The Manila Hall Ramp will be replaced following the design and tender process.
  • A report on the Beaverton Dam Safety Review was presented to Council and will be discussed in the 2026 budget deliberation.
  • Brock Arts and Culture presented Council with highlights and upcoming projects for 2025. Council approved the installation of various public art pieces within local parks.  
  • The Hike for Hospice in support of Oak Ridges Hospice happens on June 1 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. in Palmer Park, Port Perry. This highly anticipated event brings together hundreds of participants all united by a shared mission to support those going through the end-of-life journey.
