Refreshment Vehicles
You must have a licence to operate a refreshment vehicle in the Township of Brock. This includes chip trucks, coffee trucks, hot dog carts, and ice cream carts. View our Refreshment Vehicle By-Law for more information on how we license and regulate refreshment vehicles.
Applying for a Licence
Please send a completed Application for a Refreshment Vehicle Licence to the Municipal Clerk. Make sure to include a description of the equipment you'll be using and its intended location. Your vehicle's location must be 50 m from an eating establishment.
After approval, we will grant your licence after you've completed the following:
- Regional Health Unit inspection and approval
- Fire Department inspection and approval (this may require you to install a kitchen fire suppression system)
- Submission of proof of liability insurance
- Payment of the licence fee

Please note that Refreshment Vehicle Licences are limited each year. If you fail to comply with the By-law, you are liable to a penalty as per the Provincial Offences Act.
