A Yellow Level Heat Warning is in effect for Durham Region for Mon. July 13 until Wed. July 15. Daytime maximum temperatures of 30-37C and humidex values of 38-45 are expected, with little relief overnight. Take action to protect yourself and others – extreme heat can affect everyone's health.

Ways to beat the heat in the Township of Brock

• Municipal Administrative Building, 1 Cameron Street E, Cannington. 8:30a.m.-4:30p.m. 
• Brock Township Public Library locations
• Visit our splash bad at the Beaverton Harbour from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Other ways to cool down

• Take a dip in Lake Simcoe
• Stay indoors and in shaded areas during peak heat hours
• Drink lots of water or non-alcoholic fluids
• Avoid strenuous activities
• Cover your head with a hat
• Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher.
