Deadline Reminder - Friday August 21, 2026 is the last day to file nomination papers for the 2026 Municipal Election

Every four years, there is a Municipal Election in the Township of Brock to elect a Mayor and members of Council, as well as school board trustees. The 2026 Municipal Election will take place on Monday, October 26, 2026. 

This coming Friday, August 21, 2026, is the last day for anyone interested in serving on Council to submit their nominations. Nominations will be accepted by the Clerk for Mayor, Regional Councillor and 5 Ward Councillors (one per ward) until 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 21, 2026.

Nominations are required to be submitted on the prescribed forms (available online and at the Clerk’s office), which must be endorsed by at least 25 persons who are eligible electors within the Township of Brock and shall be filed IN Person or by an Agent at the Clerk’s office, Township of Brock Municipal Administration Building, 1 Cameron Street East, Cannington, Ontario, L0E 1E0, during normal office hours (8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.) commencing Monday, May 1, 2026. The last date to file a nomination form is Friday, August 21, 2026 (Nomination Day) between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Appointments are encouraged and can be arranged by emailing clerks@brock.ca

Each filed nomination form must be accompanied with the prescribed nomination fee ($200 - Mayor and $100 - all other positions) payable by cash, certified cheque, money order, or debit only. No person who proposes to be a candidate may solicit or accept contributions for election purposes or incur campaign expenses until a nomination paper has been filed.
