Whitby, Ontario – In support of Durham Vision Zero and in collaboration with the Township of Brock, The Regional Municipality of Durham is adding a new all-way stop at the intersection of Simcoe Street (Regional Road 15) and Osborne Street (Regional Road 23) in the community of Beaverton.

Where: At the intersection of Simcoe Street and Osborne Street in Beaverton.

When: Scheduled to be installed November 8. Unfavourable weather conditions may impact the work schedule.

Why: To improve road safety.

Note: The new all-way stop will require all drivers in each direction, regardless of whether they’re planning to turn left, proceed through the intersection or turn right, to stop and yield the right-of-way to pedestrians, cyclists and other vehicles.

This enhancement will improve safety by providing a controlled crossing for all road users.

Durham Vision Zero is a long-term, multi-agency strategy to create safer roads for drivers, pedestrians and cyclists. Learn more at durham.ca/VisionZero.
