Notice of a Public Meeting with respect to the Intention of Selling Surplus Lands

TAKE NOTICE that, pursuant to paragraph 1 of subsection 270(1) of the Municipal Act, S.O. 2001, as amended, and the provisions of the Township’s Sale of Land By-law, the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Brock intends to enact a by-law to declare certain lands as surplus to the needs of the Corporation with the intention of selling the said lands.

The subject lands are located at 20915 Brock Road, commonly known as Wilfrid Community Hall. The subject lands are legally described as PT N ½ Lt 1, Pt W ½ Lt 2 Concession 11, Brock, Part 1, Plan 40R27212; Township of Brock, Regional Municipality of Durham, PIN No. 72011-0099. The subject lands are illustrated on the key map attached.

The Municipal Notice Policy requires that Council host a public meeting prior to the consideration of a subsequent meeting to formally enact a by-law to declare the lands as surplus.

Public Meeting

The Council of the Township of Brock is holding a Hybrid Public Meeting to provide interested parties the opportunity to make comments on the proposed sale of the Wilfrid Community Hall. This public meeting will be held on:

Wednesday, December 18 at 6:00 P.M.

Comments or Questions

Any person may attend the public meeting and/or make written or oral representation either in support of, or in opposition to, the proposed sale of the Wilfrid Community Hall. Should you wish to attend either virtually or in person and speak during the meeting to provide comments, please register with the Clerk’s Department in advance of the meeting by emailing clerks@brock.ca.  You must receive the Zoom link from the Clerk’s Department to participate virtually at the meeting.
