Public Notice – Sunderland Memorial Arena Construction Activity August 13, 2026

Please be advised that on Thursday August 13, 2026, concrete will be poured for the new ice pad floor at the Sunderland Memorial Arena. This is a major milestone in the construction project and will result in increased activity around the arena site throughout the day. 

Please note the following: 

• Construction equipment will begin arriving on site at 6:00 a.m., with concrete pouring operations starting at 7:00 a.m. 
• Increased truck and construction vehicle traffic is expected during the morning and early afternoon. Most truck deliveries and related traffic are expected to be complete by approximately 2:00 p.m. 
• Trucks accessing the construction site will travel along River Street and Church Street. 
• Interior construction work will continue throughout the afternoon and evening, until approximately midnight. This work will take place inside the facility and is not expected to cause significant disruption to nearby residents. 

We appreciate the community's patience and cooperation as work progresses on this important project. Please use caution when travelling near the arena and along the designated truck routes.
