Regional service impacts in observance of Victoria Day
The Region of Durham is advising residents of impacts to Regional programs and services in observance of Victoria Day.
When and where: The following programs and/or services will be impacted due to Victoria Day (May 18).
- All Durham Regional facilities will be closed, including Regional Headquarters in Whitby; Provincial Offences Courts and offices, Ontario Works Office, and Child Care and Early Years Division Office, as well as all Regional front counters.
- Directly Operated Child Care Centres will be closed.
- All Family Services Durham locations will be closed.
- Ontario Works offices in Ajax, Oshawa and Uxbridge will be closed.
- Adult Day Programs at Hillsdale Estates in Oshawa and Lakeview Manor in Beaverton will be closed.
- Health Department programs and services will be unavailable, including:
- Oral Health Clinic and Office in Oshawa.
- Sexual Health Clinics.
- Breastfeeding Clinics.
- Immunization Clinics.
- Water sample drop-off and pick-up services will not be available at the following locations on Friday, May 15 and Monday, May 18. Regular service will resume on Tuesday, May 19 at 8:30 a.m.:
- Durham Regional Headquarters at 605 Rossland Road in Whitby.
- Durham Region Health Department Port Perry Office at 181 Perry Street in Port Perry.
- Township of Uxbridge Municipal Office at 51 Toronto Street in Uxbridge.
- Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex at 2440 Durham Regional Highway 2 in Bowmanville.
- Durham Region Transit (DRT) weekend service will be in effect.
- The Specialized Services/On Demand Call Centre will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- The Customer Service Call Centre will be closed.
- The DRT Customer Service Desk at 110 Westney Road South in Ajax will be closed.
Why: In observance of the Victoria Day holiday.

For Provincial Offences Court Services, the public can use online services for payment or the 24-hour drop box at the south entrance of Regional Headquarters. Email poa.courts@durham.ca or visit durham.ca/CourtServices for more information to file electronic documents. Please note, these services will not be monitored during closure.
For Prosecution Services, the public can use online services to order disclosure and schedule a pre-trial meeting for Part III offences by visiting durham.ca/ProsecutionServices.
