Township of Brock Dog Park Officially Opens in Beaverton

Cannington, ON – The Township of Brock is pleased to announce the grand opening of the new municipal Dog Park in Beaverton, providing residents and their dogs with a safe, welcoming space to exercise, play, and socialize. Residents and their dogs are invited to join Council and staff for the official ribbon cutting at 4:00p.m. on Wednesday September 9, 2026. Located in Mill Gateway Park - 204 Simcoe Street, Beaverton. The Township of Brock Dog Park was designed to accommodate dogs of different sizes while providing a comfortable and accessible gathering space for pet owners.

"On behalf of Council, it is exciting to see yet another capital project come to fruition in the Township of Brock. This project did not happen overnight and has been almost 5 years in the making. After thorough public consultation and engagement, planning began to find a suitable location, design, and budget for our first dog park. We are pleased to see this successful project, and I am certain this will be enjoyed for many years to come."

The new dog park features:

  • Double capture gates at the entrances for added safety

  • An approximately 26,650 sq. ft. fenced area for large dogs

  • An approximately 2,600 sq. ft. fenced area for small dogs

  • Waste receptacles to help keep the park clean and enjoyable for all users

  • Signage indicating park rules

The Township thanks residents for their patience and cooperation during the construction process and looks forward to seeing the community enjoy this new recreational amenity for years to come. Residents who use the dog park are reminded to follow the rules outlined in the Parks By-Law.
