Ways to beat the heat in the Township of Brock

With a heat warning in effect this week, the Township of Brock has the following areas open to the public should they need a place to cool down.

Municipal Administration Building, 1 Cameron Street East, Cannington – Basement – 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday

  • Tuesday 10 a.m.-7:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday 2 p.m.-5 p.m.
  • Thursday 10 a.m.-7:30 p.m.
  • Friday 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
  • Saturday 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

  • Tuesday 2 p.m.-7:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
  • Thursday 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
  • Friday 2 p.m.-7:30 p.m.
  • Saturday 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

  • Tuesday 3 p.m.-8 p.m.
  • Wednesday 3 p.m.-8 p.m.
  • Thursday 3 p.m.-8 p.m.
  • Saturday 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Other ways to cool down

  • Visit our splash bad at the Beaverton Harbour from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Take a dip in Lake Simcoe
  • Stay indoors and in shaded areas during peak heat hours
  • Drink lots of water or non-alcoholic fluids
  • Avoid strenuous activities
  • Cover your head with a hat
  • Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher.
