There are 10 public parks in the Township of Brock. Learn about the amenities and attractions in each park and spend some time outside!
Beaverton Harbour Park is located at 1 Harbour Park Cres. in Beaverton. Situated on the shores of Lake Simcoe, the park has lots to offer, including a beach and marina

Harbour Washrooms:
• Portable Toilets will be in place at the harbour

Harbour Parking:
- Daytime parking is free, must purchase a parking pass if parking overnight
Boat Launch:
- The boat launch will be open to the public. Please note all non-residents will be required to pay a boat launch fee, payable at the Harbour Tourism Kiosk prior to launching.
Splash Pad: Now Closed until June
- Monday - Sunday 9 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Centennial Beach & All Beach Accesses
- Beaches and Beach access points will be monitored regularly.
- Parking will only be permitted within the designated parking lots.
- Please respect all areas with no-parking signs to ensure the safety of yourself and others trying to enjoy the area.
Pier:
- The Pier is owned by the Federal Government and is open for public use.
Swimming from the pier is discouraged.

Lodwick Park is located 297 King St. in Beaverton. This newly renovated park has a playground, running track, pickleball court recreational baseball diamond and an outdoor tennis court.
Mill Gateway Park is located in Beaverton next to the museum at 204 Simcoe St., along the Beaver River. This is a picturesque park with a nature trail that winds along the river.

Cannington Macleod Park is located at 50 Peace Street (north of the river) and 110 Elliot Street (south of the river) in Cannington. The park has a variety of attractions including a skate park and the cenotaph.

Manilla Park is located next to Manilla Community Hall at C2370 Brock Street. The park includes the following amenities:

Sunderland Park is located at 18 Church St. in Sunderland. This park is home to a variety of community events, including the Sunderland Fall Fair and Maple Syrup Festival.

Hiking and Conservation Trails

Beaver River Wetland Conservation Area and Trail
The Beaver River Wetland Conservation Area and Trail runs from Blackwater to Cannington along a former railway line. This 12.5 km trail runs adjacent to the Beaver River. There is also trail extension to Beaverton.

You can access the trail from Blackwater, Brock Concession 4, 5, 6, 7, 11 and Highway 7. View the Durham Trails Map for more details about the route and access points.
The Lagoon Reserve Walk is a 2 km trail that loops around the fairgrounds and continues south. This is an easy trail and is a great place to walk your dog.

The Macleod Park Nature Trial is a 2.5 km look through Cannington's MacLeod Park and runs along the Beaver River.

The Trans Canada Trail runs across Canada and winds through the Township of Brock. Whether you are backcountry hiking or looking for a local day hike, the Trans Canada Trail is a great option.

Accessing the Trail
You can access the Trans Canada Trail in the Township of Brock from Lake Ridge Road, Blackwater and Simcoe Street.
Route Details
This segment of trail follows an abandoned railway line that connects Uxbridge, Sunderland and Lindsay. The trail runs along the Beaver River from 20 km and connects to the Beaver River Wetland Conservation Area in Blackwater.
The Beaverton walking trail is a 900 ft. trail that begins at the Beaverton fairgrounds located at 176 Main St. The trail links to the Beaverton Harbour. This is a paved trail and is accessible for wheelchairs and strollers. The Beaverton Lions Club contributed to the development of the trail.
The Sunderland Lions walking trail is a 1 km paved trail that runs around the Sunderland fairgrounds located at 20 Park St. People of all ages enjoy this safe and accessible trail. The Sunderland Lions Club contributed to the development of the trail and received a Durham Region Accessibility Award for their work championing accessibility in our community.
Commemorative Donation Program
The purpose of the Commemorative Donation Program is to place dedication trees, benches, and picnic tables in Township parks and in downtown cores that can also help with revitalization. This program is an opportunity for residents, businesses and community organizations to commemorate the lives and achievements of Brock residents.
Donations can be made toward a park amenity including as a tree, bench, or a picnic table within one of the beautiful parks, trails or downtown cores in the Township of Brock;
- Each will have the option of a personalized plaque; and
- Staff will work with donors to determine a specific location, installation and maintenance of the amenity for a predetermined lifecycle.
Tree ($750.00): Includes the installation of a 50-60 mm caliper tree and a memorial tag. Tree planting takes place in the spring and fall and a two-year warranty is provided by the Township. All species must meet the approval of staff based on the best fit for the location to ensure the long-term health of the tree.
Bench ($1721.85): Includes a stable, solid base, a memorial plaque and installation in a approved location. The make and model of the bench is at the sole discretion of the Township.
Picnic Table ($2840.85): Includes an accessible picnic table and a memorial plaque, placed in an approved location. The make and model of the picnic table is at the sole discretion of the Township.
The Township will issue a tax receipt to the donor for the full cost of the purchase.
