Notice of a Public Meeting with respect to a new Site Alteration (Fill) By-law

The Township of Brock will hold a Public Meeting to consider the passing of a by-law to adopt a new site alteration (fill) by-law under Section 142 of the Municipal Act, 2001, S.O. 2001, c.25, as amended, at the Council Meeting on June 15, 2026.

Purpose and Effect
The Township of Brock is proposing to adopt a new site alteration (fill) by-law to ensure the by-law is up to date with current provincial regulations and is easier to both understand and implement to more effectively protect properties, roads, and the environment.

The key changes in the proposed new site alteration (fill) by-law include:

  • Clearer policies to better reflect current provincial regulations;
  • Improved permit process and exemptions, including exemptions based on lot size;
  • Stronger enforcement measures, including the creation of set fines that allow enforcement officers to issue tickets immediately for violations;
  • Greater transparency through clearer application requirements and refund policies;
  • More flexibility for farms to better support farmers.

A copy of the proposed new by-law is available on the Township’s website at: www.townshipofbrock.ca/building-and-business-development/building-and-renovating/site-alteration-fill-permits/

The proposed by-law is also available to the public for inspection at the Township of Brock Municipal Office during regular business hours – 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday or by contacting the Building Admin at billie.clark@brock.ca.
