Notice of a Public Meeting with respect to a new Site Alteration (Fill) By-law
The Township of Brock will hold a Public Meeting to consider the passing of a by-law to adopt a new site alteration (fill) by-law under Section 142 of the Municipal Act, 2001, S.O. 2001, c.25, as amended, at the Council Meeting on June 15, 2026.

The Township of Brock is proposing to adopt a new site alteration (fill) by-law to ensure the by-law is up to date with current provincial regulations and is easier to both understand and implement to more effectively protect properties, roads, and the environment.
The key changes in the proposed new site alteration (fill) by-law include:
- Clearer policies to better reflect current provincial regulations;
- Improved permit process and exemptions, including exemptions based on lot size;
- Stronger enforcement measures, including the creation of set fines that allow enforcement officers to issue tickets immediately for violations;
- Greater transparency through clearer application requirements and refund policies;
- More flexibility for farms to better support farmers.
The meeting will be held on Monday, June 15, 2026 at 10:00 AM.

The Township of Brock Site Alteration By-law is a by-law to prohibit or regulate the removal of topsoil, the placing or dumping of fill and the alteration of the grade (topography) of land.
Apply for a Permit
A permit is required to place or dump fill, remove topsoil or fill or otherwise alter the grade of land. Complete the Site Alteration Permit Application to apply for a permit. Additional information may be required.
