Doggie Day Care Licences
If you want to open a doggie day care in the Township of Brock, you will need a licence. With a Doggie Day Care Licence, you can care for more than three dogs between the hours of 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. Please note though, dogs are not permitted to be boarded overnight when operating a doggie day care.
You need to apply for a doggie day care licence:
- Each year before March 1
- Within seven days of opening a doggie day care
Annual Fees
A licence for a new operation will cost $310.60. Doggie day care licence renewals cost $217.90. Make sure to renew your doggie day care licence annually.
Licence Requirements
The Doggie Day Care By-law regulates the doggie day care licensing process. You must meet the following requirements in order to qualify for a doggie day care licence:
- The owner/operator must live on the same property as the doggie day care
- No doggie day care is permitted within a residential zone or within 120 metres of a neighbouring residence
- You must keep an updated list of the dog owners names for all dogs in your care
- You must open your facility for inspection by the Animal Services Department for more information
- You need to maintain the day care in a sanitary, well-lit, ventilated and healthful condition
