Automobile Wrecking Yard

Opening a wrecking yard in the Township of Brock? Make sure to apply for an Automobile Wrecking Yard Licence, which you must renew annually. You can view our Wrecking Yard By-Law to learn more about how we license, regulate and govern automobile wrecking yards in our community.

Applying for a New Licence

Please send a completed Application for an Automobile Wrecking Yard to the Clerk's Department. Make sure to include a site plan of the property and a non-refundable deposit of $50.

Wrecking Yard Licence Fee - $303.00
After February 1st - $361.50

Requirements

The Municipal By-Law Enforcement Officer will inspect the location to ensure that it complies with the Wrecking Yard By-Law. If the yard meets all requirements, we will issue the license after receiving the required fee.

The yard must:

• be on land where zoning allows a wrecking yard
• be 150 m from a neighbouring residence
• only allow access when an attendant is on duty
• not permit any open burning

You must dispose of fluids from derelict vehicles in an environmentally-safe manner as per the Environmental Protection Act (if you are not safely storing them for resale).

Renewing your License

There is an annual  fee for your Wrecking Yard License.

After February 1 - $352.00
