Lottery Licences

The Township of Brock issues lottery licences to eligible charitable and religious organizations located in Brock. Visit the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) for important information about your responsibilities when managing a lottery event.

Apply for a Lottery Licence

Eligible organizations applying for the first time for a lottery licence are requested to complete our Lottery Licence Application Questionnaire and mail/or deliver it together with all supporting documents and the completed application to:

A raffle is a lottery where tickets are sold for a chance to win a prize in a draw. Review the Raffle Lottery Information Package for the Raffle Lottery Licence Application and the Raffle Licence Terms and Conditions. Within 30 days of the completion of your raffle lottery, you are required to submit a signed Raffle Lottery Report. For more information about raffle lottery licences, visit the AGCO

Break Open Ticket is a game of chance to win instance prizes by revealing a specified arrangements of numbers or symbols. Review the Break Open Ticket Lottery Information Package for the Break Open Ticket Lottery Application and the Break Open Lottery Licence Terms and Conditions. Within 30 days of the completion of your Break Open lottery, you are required to submit a signed Break Open Lottery Report. For more information, visit the AGCO

Regular Bingo events are lottery schemes where players purchase bingo paper and win prizes by being the first to complete specified arrangements or patterns of numbers on the bingo paper from numbers selected at random. Regular Bingo events have prize boards of $5,500 and under. Review the Regular Bingo Application and the Regular Bingo Licence Terms and Conditions. Within 30 days of the completion of your Regular Bingo lottery, you are required to submit a signed Regular Bingo Lottery Report. For more information, visit the AGCO

Fees

Lottery licences fees are 3% of the total value of all prizes and are payable by cheque, written on your organization's designated Lottery Trust Account, made payable to the Township of Brock.

Eligibility

To obtain a lottery licence in the Township of Brock, your organization may be eligible if it:

  • Provides charitable services to Ontario residents and the needs of the community as a whole
  • Has carried out activities consistent with its' charitable purposes for at least 1 year
  • Is located in the Township of Brock
  • Is a non-profit organization

If your organization promotes the private interests of its' members, you do not qualify for a lottery/gaming licence. Examples of these organizations may include, but are not limited to:

  • Adult recreation or sports
  • Individual sport teams
  • Unions or employee groups
  • Social clubs
  • Professional associations
  • Political, government, lobbying or advocacy groups
