Voter Information

The last regular municipal election took place on October 24, 2022.

The next regular municipal election will occur on October 26, 2026. Make sure you are on the Voters List

A person is entitled to vote in a municipal election if they are a qualified elector. That means, you must be:

  • A resident of the Township of Brock, or an owner or tenant of land in the Township, or the spouse of such an owner or tenant;
  • A Canadian citizen;
  • At least 18 years old; and
  • Not prohibited from voting by law

If you are not a resident of the Township of Brock, to vote for a School Board Trustee, you must be:

  • An owner or tenant of residential property in the area of jurisdiction of the school board, who does not support any other board

Who cannot vote?

The following are prohibited from voting in a municipal election:

  • Serving a sentence of imprisonment in a penal or correctional institution
  • A corporation
  • Acting as executor or trustee or in another representative capacity, except as a voting proxy
  • Convicted of a corrupt practice described in section 90(3) of the Municipal Elections Act, 1996

As a Canadian citizen, voting is your right and responsibility. Your community is shaped by the outcome of an election.

The individual who is elected takes part in making many important decisions including how tax dollars are spent in your community.

Please check to see if your name is on the Voters List.

Helpful hints when checking the Voters List:

  • Do not put a letter in front of the street number
  • Remember there are Thorah Concession Roads in Beaverton and Brock Concession Roads in Sunderland with the same numbering
  • Try a variation of your street name (Example: Cameron Street, Regional Road 12, Reg Rd 12 or Lakeridge Road, Lake Ridge Rd, Durham Rd 23)

If your name isnt on the Voters List, please register with Elections Ontario.

Voting for the 2026 general election can be conducted by internet, telephone or by visiting a Voter Assistance Centre and requesting a ballot-on-demand.

All eligible electors will receive a Voter Information letter in the mail.

  • Keep the Voting Information letter in a safe place until voting opens
  • Follow the instructions in your Voter Information letter. There are specific instructions for voting online and by telephone. Both of which will require the PIN number within your personalized letter.
  • If you require assistance, you may bring your Voter Information letter to any Voter Assistance Centre during the voting period

During the advanced voting period and on voting day, electors may attend any Voter Assistance Centre for help.

Assistance will be provided if you received a Voter Information Letter and need help voting, if you did not receive a Voter Information Letter or if your Voter Information Letter has errors and needs to be corrected.

You are not required to attend a Voter Assistance Centre if you intended to cast your ballot online or by telephone.

 Use the Interactive Ward Map to see which electoral ward you live in.

If you would like to remove yourself or a family member who is deceased, please complete the Application to Amend the Voters' List Form, and attend the Clerk's Office at 1 Cameron Street East during regular business hours. (Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.)

If you have received a Voting PIN Letter from a Municipal Election for someone who has moved, or is no longer a resident at your address, it is extremely important that you return that letter, unopened, in the mail. Mark on the envelope "Return to Sender - Moved" or "Return to Sender - Deceased" , and elections staff will deactivate the PIN and attempt to verify the change once it is received back in the mail.
