Mayor’s Networking Event

Twice a year the Township of Brock's Mayor and Council host a free networking event! This is an opportunity for the Township to  provide municipal and regional updates to help businesses, organizations and non-profit groups better serve our community.

The Fall Mayor's Non-Profit Networking Event is being held on October 22, 2025 at the Foster Hewitt Memorial Community Centre, Beaverton. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. and the presentation will begin at 5:30 p.m. Registration details will be available at a later date.

The 2025 Spring Mayor's Networking Business Event took place on April 16, 2025 at the Rick MacLeish Memorial Community Centre. Mayor Schummer provided municipal and regional updates. Brock Board of TradeDurham Region TransitDurham Tourism, Invest DurhamBusiness Advisory Centre Durham and South Lake Futures also provided brief presentations. Municipal and regional staff were in attendance to answer questions from attendees during the networking portion of the evening. 

The 2024 Fall Mayor's Networking Event took place on October 2, 2024 at the Sunderland Town Hall. Mayor Schummer provided Township information tailored to non-profit and community organizations.  

Durham Region Greener HomesDurham Region Social ServicesSouth Lake Community Futures, as well as the Brock Non-Profit Sector Advisory Committee. Municipal staff as well as the presenters were available to answer questions from attendees during the networking portion of the evening. 

 

The 2024 Spring Mayor's Networking Business Event took place on April 15, 2024 at the Beaverton Town Hall. Mayor Schummer provided municipal and regional updates. Invest DurhamBrock Board of Trade and Central Counties Tourism also provided brief presentations. Municipal and regional staff were in attendance to answer questions from attendees during the networking portion of the evening. 

At our 2019 Mayor's Networking Business Breakfast (MNBB), which took place on September 30th, Mayor Bath-Hadden provided updates on all things happening in the Township of Brock since the municipal election in 2018. The presentation included project updates and changes:

We hosted two breakfast events in 2017. Each event includes updates from the Mayor as well as a variety of department and regional initiatives.

The 2016 fall MNBB was held on October 27th. The breakfast included updates on:

  • Township and Regional activities
  • Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Economic Update – Carolyn Puterbough
  • Durham Workforce Authority, North Durham Community Survey – Paige Marlow

The 2016 spring MNBB was held on May 11 and included updates on:

  • Township and Regional activities
  • Brock Board of Trade
  • Durham College Employment Services
