Staff provided a verbal update to Council regarding the current road conditions and Council has direct staff to reallocate funding from the 2026 capital budget to immediately address road conditions across the municipality. More information can be found on our website.

April 13, 2026 Council Highlights

Council was presented with the Growing North Durham Annual Activity Report from the Region of Durham. The Plan, which was approved in 2023, focuses on people, places and prosperity while developing a workforce, supporting existing businesses and promoting North Durham as a premier location to live, work and explore.

Oak Ridges Hospice presented information to Council on the annual Hike for Hospice event happening on June 7th, 2026 in Palmer Park, Port Perry.

Council was presented a status report for Capital Projects- December 2025. Staff have been directed to transfer any surplus funds back to the original funding source on completed projects.  

Council has approved the road rehabilitation project on Concession 4 Brock. Funding this roads project will come from Capital Reserve and OCIF Funding.

Council supports the request from the Durham District School Board for the Ombudsman for review of the potential impacts of removing English Public School Trustees in  the election process.
