New all-way stop at Simcoe Street and Osborne Street in Beaverton

Whitby, Ontario – In support of Durham Vision Zero and in collaboration with the Township of Brock, The Regional Municipality of Durham is adding a new all-way stop at the intersection of Simcoe Street (Regional Road 15) and Osborne Street (Regional Road 23) in the community of Beaverton.
Where: At the intersection of Simcoe Street and Osborne Street in Beaverton.
When: Scheduled to be installed November 8. Unfavourable weather conditions may impact the work schedule.
Why: To improve road safety.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is beginning to welcome program participants to Beaverton Heights transitional housing.
The 47-unit residence provides accommodation and access to wraparound services. Located at 121 Nine Mile Road, Beaverton, the residence includes a community hub space, outdoor garden areas and recreational facilities. The virtual tour is available on YouTube.

Beaver River Bridge Replacement update November 1, 2024

The Region of Durham is progressing with temporary and permanent replacements of the Beaver River Bridge, located on Regional Road 15 west of Highway 12, in the Township of Brock. The old bridge will be replaced with a new structure and it is scheduled to commence construction in 2026 and be completed in 2027. In the interim, a temporary bridge will open to traffic in mid-November of 2024.

On Monday, September 16, 2024, Council held a workshop to review the full list of identified capital projects for Parks, Recreation & Facilities, to identify and short list the preferred 2025 Capital Budget projects.
The Township is seeking public input from its residents and community groups, on the short list of preferred 2025 Capital Budget projects.
Comments can be submitted to clerks@brock.ca until October 1st, 2024.

The Regional Municipality of Durham presented the Ontario Northlander Case to Council. The Northlander is a train that would travel between Toronto – Union Station and North Bay. A proposed Beaverton train station is being evaluated. More information to come when available.
